First off, thanks Jimmy for forwarding along this article. While I’m a serious Facebook fan, I once was a huge MySpace fan as well. However, I long ago abandoned MySpace when the email I had signed up with was no longer in use and MySpace wouldn’t let me change my email. Way to go MySpace – that’s excellent customer experience and retention. To this day, I have never looked back. Unfortunately, I still have a profile. Which is something the article doesn’t mention – that MySpace also has the largest number of members (woohoo!), there are a bunch of “me’s” out there with unmanaged profiles.

The article does mention that the user time on site is up on MySpace also, but I’m really not surprised that MySpace has more traffic. I am in full agreement with the reasons why traffic is higher – longevity.
